Berkeley police are currently investigating two separate shooting incidents that took place near downtown and the UC Berkeley campus within less than 48 hours of each other.
The first incident occurred on Thursday, where reports of gunfire near Henry Street led to a person seeking treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Less than two days later, multiple reports indicated a man with a gun and subsequent gunfire near Haste Street, with shots detected by the ShotSpotter system.
In the second incident, no injuries were reported, but police found evidence of gunfire at a building on Durant Avenue, highlighting the ongoing safety concerns.
