Gilead Sciences is laying off 104 workers from its Foster City headquarters, primarily affecting upper management and certain departments as part of resource alignment.
According to a WARN filing, most layoffs will occur between March 14 and April 30, 2025, with significant cuts in Public Affairs and Human Resources.
Gilead spokesperson Blair Baumwell emphasized the company is prioritizing resources in preparation for six new potential product launches by 2030.
Baumwell noted that Gilead's business performance is strong and stated, 'This includes relocating some teams and closing some offices' to align with strategic goals.
