Bandai Namco reportedly uses layoff-by-boredom
Briefly

Bandai Namco is allegedly moving employees to 'expulsion rooms' to pressure them into quitting, a practice aiming to bore or shame individuals into resignation.
Termed oidashi beya, this tactic has impacted about 200 of the company’s 1,300 staff as layoffs in Japan remain legally complicated and culturally challenging.
While Bandai Namco denies using this strategy, it's a longstanding practice in Japan that companies have resorted to amidst labor laws that protect employees from dismissal.
Sources indicate that almost half of those placed in oidashi beya have resigned after being subjected to this demoralizing task assignment.
