A new three-story residential building on Fürther Street in Nuremberg fills a construction gap and offers three residential units focused around a shared courtyard. This design promotes communal living while ensuring ample light enters the north-facing apartments through large facade openings. Residents access their units via an external staircase, with shared landings offering additional communal spaces. The distinct jagged aluminum facade contrasts with surrounding buildings, reflecting light and colors of the environment. Constructed using solid bricks and unique micro-drilled piles due to the site's historical soil issues, the building complements its densely developed neighborhood.
This new residential building not only closes a construction gap but also enriches the communal living experience by providing a shared courtyard accessible to all residents.
Its facade, comprised of bare aluminum in a jagged form, gives the structure a distinct identity, while reflecting the surrounding colors and enhancing the courtyard's brightness.
