Are You Helping or Enabling Your Addicted Loved One?

Broadly speaking, enabling can be defined as any action that makes it easier for addicted individuals to continue using. Some family members define it as doing for our loved ones what they can and should manage on their own.
Instead, what I learned is that when it comes to addiction, there are no simple answers. Addiction changes the way the brain functions. It impairs decision-making and undermines physical, mental, and emotional health.
