Are Sephora kids birthday parties really a thing now?
Briefly

Children's birthday parties are shifting towards beauty and skincare experiences, as evidenced by a recent party at Sephora for a 7-year-old girl named Camila. Her mom, Jessica Bazan, organized a celebration featuring makeup services, goody bags with luxury lip gloss, and product exploration, showcasing how contemporary interests differ from traditional party games. However, Sephora lacks a formal party program and requires parental consent for minors receiving services, highlighting challenges in organizing such events. While some express concern over kids growing up too fast, others embrace these trends as part of changing generational interests.
'Camila wanted a princess party at mommy's job,' Bazan, an assistant store manager at the beauty retailer's Willowbrook Mall location in Houston, tells TODAY.com.
Sephora does not offer a formal party program for customers of any age at any location,' a spokesperson for the company told TODAY in a statement.
'Why all of a sudden are our children needing to grow up faster?' she asked.
'This is just what girls are into at the moment,' Bazan explains. 'It's a different generation.'
