Samantha Morris expressed her deep sorrow, saying, 'I shouldn't be a single parent to three children, that wasn't the plan. I shouldn't be widowed at 28.' Her unexpected loss has left her with profound pain and sadness, especially during the holiday season. She emphasized how her life changed dramatically after her husband Aaron's tragic accident, which could have been prevented with a timely ambulance response.
Following Aaron's death, the North East Ambulance Service acknowledged there were lessons learned. It was reported that it took an alarming 54 minutes for an ambulance to reach the accident site, greatly affecting Mr. Morris's chance of survival, which could have been as high as 95% if he had received timely medical intervention.
Mrs. Morris recounted accidentally discovering the scene of the crash, stating, 'I saw there was an accident on the road... But then I looked again and saw it was Aaron.' She was unaware of the severity of the situation, thinking he had only minor injuries, and spent her time trying to assist the already overwhelmed ambulance crew.
Samantha reflected on her last moments with her husband, sharing her regret for not being fully aware of his critical condition and feeling she missed the chance to comfort him in his final moments.
