Al-Shaair suspended 3 games for Lawrence hit
Briefly

Jon Runyan, the NFL's VP of football operations, emphasized that Al-Shaair's actions were unacceptable, stating, "You were involved in a play that the (NFL) considers unacceptable and a serious violation of the playing rules. Video shows you striking the head/neck area of Jaguars' quarterback Trevor Lawrence after he clearly goes down in a feet-first slide... You led with your forearm and helmet and delivered a forceful blow to the head/neck area of your opponent when you had time and space to avoid such contact."
The aftermath of the hit left Trevor Lawrence on the ground for several minutes, where he exhibited the 'fencing response,' a reaction indicative of a traumatic brain injury. His teammates came to support him while confronting Al-Shaair, highlighting the severity of the hit and its immediate consequences.
Jon Runyan condemned Al-Shaair's actions post-ejection as well, stating, "You proceeded to engage in a brawl, which you escalated when you pulled an opponent down to the ground by his facemask... removed your helmet and reengaged with your opponent while walking down and across the field, which started another physical confrontation near the end zone."
Azeez Al-Shaair was previously fined for another incident, showing a pattern of questionable behavior. Last week he received an $11,255 fine for a late hit on Tennessee's Tony Pollard, and earlier this season was fined $11,817 for punching Chicago's Ros.
