My love for cruises is undeniable, but after more than 50 sailings, I’ve noticed several downsides that make me reconsider aspects of this travel choice.
The planning that cruises demand can often feel overwhelming. Each itinerary seems to require a delicate balance between organized activities and allowing for spontaneous adventures.
One of the biggest frustrations I have is related to loyalty programs. Those without status often feel as though they’re left out of getting reservations, leading to a lack of enjoyment.
While I appreciate the many opulent amenities on cruises, the high costs of specialty dining add up quickly, making it difficult to enjoy dining without breaking the bank.
