The day before the wedding, another sister and I traveled an hour and a half to get to our friend's hometown. We weren't bridesmaids but Amanda invited us as special guests.
When Amanda's mother had us doing little tasks like picking up pizza and setting the table, we began to realize we weren't really guests but rather temporary servants at the event.
We spent the morning fetching items for the bride, fixing hair, and ironing dresses. By then we understood we were not valued guests, just free help for the wedding.
After being ordered to wash dishes when we should have been celebrating, we left in shock. Rachel laughed and tossed a dish to the floor; we headed to McDonald's and cut ties with Amanda.
