Pablo Sampaio, a 43-year-old triathlete, faced debilitating hip pain due to prolonged sitting during a conference, jeopardizing his goal of completing the Norseman triathlon. Despite initial warnings from his trainer, he pushed through pain until he could barely walk. Acknowledging his early mistakes in a prior attempt and determined to overcome them, he sought help from physical therapists. Through hip stretching and strengthening exercises, coupled with increased protein intake for recovery, Sampaio successfully rehabilitated his injury and completed the challenging race he had long desired to finish.
Hip flexor stretches help offset the damage from sitting. Pablo's pelvis was twisted from long hours at his desk job combined with lengthy endurance workouts.
With help from physical therapists, Sampaio implemented a consistent program of stretching, simple exercises, and recovery habits that allowed him to finish his bucket list race injury-free.
