The Philippines has experienced four typhoons in just 11 days, marking the most active November on record, despite the western North Pacific's activity being 25% below average.
Yinxing, which transformed from a tropical depression into a Category 4-equivalent super typhoon within days, made landfall in Cagayan with winds reaching 150 mph.
Typhoon Man-yi, known locally as Pepito, showed extreme rapid intensification, reaching Category 5-equivalent strength with 160 mph winds shortly before making landfall.
Despite the series of storms, the overall activity in the western North Pacific remains lower than expected for this time of year.
