37-year-old artist with ALS creates moving portraits of people with the fatal disease
Briefly

Eric Brunner, diagnosed with ALS, turned to his passion for art to cope, creating 'Flickering Souls: Illuminating ALS,' reflecting on his experience and supporting the community.
Before ALS, Eric would get lost in a project for hours and hours; that was such a huge part of Eric's identity. Losing that was devastating for him.

Using digital sculpting, eye tracking technology, and 3D printing, Brunner created over 250 portraits in three months to depict the experience of living with ALS.
