Luxury Living Redefined Inside Miami's Eco-Friendly Skyscraper With Solar-Panel-Integrated Windows - Yanko Design
Briefly

The Residences at 1428 Brickell is a new skyscraper in Miami designed to merge luxury living with sustainability. The 70-story residential tower will have a unique sculpted exterior inspired by wind, rather than the sea. It features solar-panel-integrated windows on its west-facing facade, aimed at minimizing reliance on grid energy. Designed by ACPV Architects and Arquitectonica, the building will host 189 luxury residences, each with private foyers and expansive terraces. The solar design is set to produce 170,000 kilowatts of clean energy per year, marking a significant step towards sustainable construction in Miami.
"Since the solar cells are integrated into the glass, the effective lifespan of the panels can match the window itself," said ACPV Architects.
The property will feature 500 photovoltaic-integrated windows along the west-facing facade, creating a 'Solar Backbone' comprising nearly 20,000 square feet of energy-producing glass.
With this orientation and permanently installed generating capacity, the system is capable of producing up to 170,000 kilowatts, or 170 megawatts, of clean energy per year.
The building's interior has been designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel (ACPV Architects), while the local firm Arquitectonica is responsible for the exterior design.
