Red South Beach, a renowned steakhouse opened in 2008 by owner and executive chef Peter Vauthy, has officially closed its doors after an impressive 20-year run in Miami's vibrant South of Fifth neighborhood. The closure announcement expressed gratitude to loyal diners, recognizing them as family. Despite the restaurant's accolades, including being named the top surf and turf spot in America, attempts to negotiate with the landlord proved unsuccessful. The owners emphasized that though they are closing this chapter, they remain hopeful for future opportunities to reunite with patrons.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Red South Beach is closing its doors," a post on Instagram said.
"From the moment we opened, you welcomed us - not just as your favorite neighborhood steakhouse, but as part of your lives," it said.
"While we don't know what the future holds, this is not goodbye forever," the post read.
"Over the years, Red earned numerous accolades for its cuisine, among them being named the no. 1 Best Surf & Turf in America."
