Kelly: There are no desperate acts on Chris Grier's resume | Opinion
Briefly

The Miami Dolphins face considerable pressure to improve their performance after years of mediocrity in the NFL. With Chris Grier as general manager since 2019 and part of the organization since 2000, the blame for past failures can no longer be shifted away from him. Owner Steve Ross has indicated that another disappointing season will lead to significant changes within the organization. Despite past mistakes in free agency and drafts, the Dolphins are currently maintaining a controlled approach in their rebuild, setting clear budgetary constraints to avoid overbidding on players.
There is no more blame to be shifted. No more pointing fingers at the other guy. No more excusing selections, contracts, evaluation whiffs and poor decisions on "that's what the head coach wanted."
Chris Grier has survived six regimes, helping influence moves South Florida's NFL franchise has made for two-plus decades, which happen to coincide with the Dolphins' era of mediocrity.
Owner Steve Ross has already put everyone in the organization on notice that the status quo won't do, and another disappointing season will trigger change.
The Dolphins set prices on players, budgets on this rebuild, and thankfully, seemingly won't be overbidding.
