Dolphins signing former Miami Hurricanes cornerback and first-round draft pick
Briefly

After a week of free agency inactivity regarding cornerbacks, the Miami Dolphins have signed Artie Burns, a former first-round draft pick. Burns, who played college football at the University of Miami and attended Miami Northwestern High School, brings experience, having played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Bears, and Seattle Seahawks. Despite spending part of last season on the practice squad, he contributed in four games. The Dolphins, who had released veteran Kendall Fuller, look to bolster their cornerback position with Burns, alongside other recent additions to their secondary.
The Dolphins agreed to terms with former Miami Hurricanes cornerback Artie Burns, who also played his high school football at Miami Northwestern, on Monday morning.
Burns was a former first-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers out of UM in 2016, and all four interceptions and the two fumble recoveries of his career came in his first two professional seasons.
After playing out his rookie contract, he has been with the Chicago Bears and Seattle Seahawks, where he was initially on the practice squad.
The Dolphins made a series of additions at safety in the first week of free agency but were yet to bring in a cornerback before Monday's move.
