Gomez stressed how debilitating anxiety can be, noting that she spent years avoiding leaving her bed because she did not do the necessary work to improve her situation.
Mental health counselor Natalie Capano confirmed that avoiding bedrooms can be common for those suffering from anxiety and depression, due to deeper emotional links to that space.
Capano advises that individuals with negative connections to their sleeping space should find a place that feels safe and comfortable for better restful sleep.
