My daughter is in fifth class in school and ever since September has been very quiet. I probed gently a few times and it turns out that her friends, who she has played with since Montessori, no longer talk to her as they have started hanging around with a cooler kid, who is excluding her. She is very quiet and sweet, and my heart is absolutely breaking for her. She hates going to school and I am worried it will affect her mental health.
I tried to bring it up with the mums I am friendly with but they didn't want to engage - these are the same women I went for coffee and to the park with for almost a decade - I can't believe it.
