Light therapy for SAD can also help treat major depressive disorder, study finds
Briefly

The analysis combed through databases for randomized clinical trials evaluating the effects of bright light therapy (BLT) on patients with non-seasonal depression, revealing that BLT was indeed an effective adjunctive treatment for nonseasonal depressive disorders.
Given this, bright light therapy (BLT) has been studied as a potential adjunctive treatment for major depressive disorder (MDD), as light exposure is well understood to affect human mood and cognitive function.
I hope that my study can provide evidence for guidelines recommending the use of bright light therapy as an adjunctive treatment for both bipolar and unipolar depression.
As this therapy can be low-cost, it presents a promising option for improving treatment response and achieving symptom remission among depressive patients.
