Hossam Abu Safieh, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, reported that after air strikes, soldiers ordered all personnel and patients into the courtyard before allowing them to return hours later. This disruption has left the hospital devoid of surgeons and greatly impacted its operations.
Richard Peeperkorn from the World Health Organization emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating the lack of official warnings before the hospital strike was disturbing and could encourage panic amongst both staff and patients. He noted that the hospital was already minimally functional and stressed the need for urgent medical evacuations.
