Claire Trivedi, a 48-year-old woman from London who became paralyzed from the waist down in 2017, recently took her first steps after participating in a pioneering spinal cord stimulation clinical trial. The study, which involved 10 participants with varying spinal injuries, utilized electrical pulses to stimulate the dormant parts of the spinal cord combined with intensive physical therapy. Claire remarked that despite being told her injury was complete, her determination led to improvements, allowing her to stand and walk with assistance, bringing tears of joy to all around her.
"I dreamed that one day I might take a few steps, and my dream came true"
"Everyone cried. I was putting my all into the trial and was being rewarded"}],
