At the APOS summit 2025, industry leaders, including Media Partners Asia's Vivek Couto, discussed the evolving landscape of the Asia-Pacific screen entertainment economy, projected to reach $175 billion by 2030 despite slowing growth rates. Following a pandemic-driven revenue boom, the sector anticipates only $16 billion in incremental revenue over the next five years, largely due to declining traditional TV viewership. Traditionally dominant platforms will see their shares shift toward digital formats, particularly connected TV and user-generated content, which are expected to grow significantly.
According to data presented at the APOS summit 2025, the Asia-Pacific screen entertainment economy will become a $175 billion market by 2030.
Vivek Couto noted that the industry generated $36 billion from 2020-2025 but expects only $16 billion in new growth over the next five years.
Couto emphasized that the industry is entering a tougher monetization phase, stating, 'The bar is higher. Every dollar will be harder to win.'
Couto explained, 'Monetization is therefore decisively and inexorably shifting towards digital,' highlighting the regional shift from traditional TV.
