SAP renamed Emarsys to SAP Engagement Cloud to make engagement a core enterprise capability across the portfolio. Engagement Cloud extends engagement beyond marketing and traditional campaigns into enterprise orchestration, enabling personalization across customers, partners, resellers, and employees. Integration with the SAP backbone exposes customer, inventory, and supply chain data to marketers, improving native access to operational data and reducing the need to pass data between systems. Governance, compliance, and enterprise scale are provided by SAP, enabling faster execution of routine marketing tasks and the potential evolution of marketing roles into engagement architects.
