Google is rolling out an asset optimization feature for Performance Max video ads that uses AI voice models to generate realistic voice-overs for silent videos. The system automatically selects text from advertiser-provided headlines and descriptions, generates voice-over audio, and layers it onto the base video to create a new asset. This feature only applies to ads without existing voice content. Advertisers can opt out through video enhancement control settings before March 20, 2026. After that date, all ads with video enhancement enabled will automatically be eligible to serve voice-enhanced versions. Advertisers already opted out require no action.
