The shame of buying these things has gone. Luxury prices have become so exorbitant that the allure of the ‘real’ product is diminished, leading many to choose imitations instead.
Roughly one-third of all US adults have intentionally bought a dupe, with that figure rising to almost half for Gen Z shoppers and 44% for millennials.
Dupes are cheaper alternatives that are basically the same as the real thing... promising the same qualities of the product at a fraction of the cost.
