Ruben Amorim addressed the upcoming job cuts at Manchester United, revealing that around 200 staff members could face redundancy due to the team's performance. Having already seen 250 job losses last summer, Amorim highlighted that the financial losses exceeding £300 million over three years are tied to the failing men's first team, currently ranked 15th in the Premier League. The recent morale decline within the club follows co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe's cost-cutting initiatives. Amorim stressed the need for improvement, stating that despite hardships, focus must remain on enhancing team performance.
"We have to address all the problems in the club but one important piece of this moment is to understand how we get to this situation."
"It is always hard, for everybody. They see the friends, and teammates losing their jobs but we have to focus on what I can do to help the club in this moment."
