Jorge Soler Has Two-Year Interest, Seeks Three-Year Deal
Briefly

Jorge Soler is still seeking a three-year contract in free agency, but teams have been hesitant to offer a guaranteed third season. The Giants, Red Sox, Nationals, and Marlins have been tied to Soler this offseason. Soler had an impressive season in 2023, hitting 36 home runs with improved strikeout and walk rates.
The length of the pact has been a hold-up, as Soler has had teams willing to go to two years but has yet to be offered a guaranteed third season.
The Giants were reported to be in talks with Soler last week, and other teams like the Red Sox, Nationals, and Marlins have been linked to him. The D-backs are still searching for a right-handed bat, but it's unlikely Soler will sign anywhere without a clear path to regular playing time.
Other teams that have been tied to Soler this offseason include the Red Sox, Nationals and, to a much lesser extent, the incumbent Marlins.
In 2023, Soler had one of the best seasons of his career, hitting 36 home runs with improved strikeout and walk rates. He had a 24.3% strikeout rate and an 11.4% walk rate, paired with loud contact and high exit velocities.
That's due in no small part to the fact that Soler is coming off one of the best seasons of his career. He belted 36 home runs for the Fish in 2023, slashing a robust .250/.341/.512 (126 wRC+).
