Siemens plans to add a U.S. rail manufacturing facility in central New York specifically for producing high-speed trains for Brightline West's Las Vegas-Los Angeles project.
The factory in Horseheads, NY, represents a $60 million investment and is expected to create approximately 300 jobs by 2026, marking a significant step in high-speed rail development.
Marc Buncher stated that the new trains will be fully powered, 'like all-wheel drive all the way through,' emphasizing their advanced design and passenger accessibility.
The Brightline West project, backed by a $3 billion federal grant from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, is set to commence operations by 2028, aiming to enhance high-speed rail in the U.S.
