Southern California is experiencing a brief respite from heat as cooler temperatures and rain approach, but fire hazards return next week with warmer weather and Santa Ana winds.
The upcoming drop in temperatures will see nightly lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 60s on Saturday, while scattered rain showers will provide much-needed moisture.
With a winter advisory in effect, the San Bernardino and Riverside mountains could see up to two inches of snow, positively impacting the ski season’s start.
Despite the brief cooldown this weekend, the National Weather Service warns of low humidity and rising temperatures next week, raising concerns over potential fire conditions in the region.
