One person found dead and another is rescued at base of San Pedro cliffs

Firefighters responded to a call at Point Fermin Park, finding one person dead and another in need of medical attention at the base of steep cliffs in San Pedro. Ongoing efforts to retrieve the body are hindered by deteriorating conditions, marking the second such incident in a month.

The Los Angeles Fire Department did not disclose the identities or circumstances of the individuals involved in the incident at Point Fermin Park, overlooking the ocean. Efforts are underway for a second land-based rope rescue to recover the deceased person.
