Los Angeles County deputies are searching for Donte Lamont Brown, 41, accused of killing La'von Hall and her daughter Ma'Laysia Martin in a drive-by shooting in Compton. The incident occurred on April 1 as Hall stopped at a traffic light with her daughter. Brown allegedly opened fire before fleeing the scene, leaving Hall and her daughter in critical conditions. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, prompting a public plea for information to aid in Brown's capture. He is described as armed and dangerous, frequenting Compton and Long Beach.
"My brother got murdered around the corner some years ago. I can't imagine the pain they were going through at the time. Just to come out here to see a mother and a daughter - that's really heartbreaking."
"Hall was driving with her daughter seated in the passenger seat in Compton the evening of April 1, deputies said. While they were stopped at a traffic light near an elementary school, Brown is accused of pulling up beside the women, firing 'numerous rounds' and fleeing."
