Seismologist Lucy Jones noted that while the current activity is noteworthy, there are conflicting hypotheses regarding seismic patterns and the predictive nature of earthquake occurrences.
The shaking from Saturday's magnitude 3 earthquake was described as weak, akin to the vibrations felt from a passing truck, going unnoticed by many in Malibu.
