The city of Los Angeles will open cooling centers in South L.A., the San Fernando Valley and the Eastside to provide a break from the extreme heat expected in the region. Temperatures are forecasted to reach 95 to 105 degrees in L.A. County and 100 to 110 degrees in the Antelope Valley, with the weather service expecting a cool down by Wednesday.
Five cooling centers will operate from Sunday to Tuesday, allowing residents and their pets to seek refuge from the high temperatures. In addition to these cooling centers, the city's libraries are also open to the public, providing additional locations for people to cool off.
