California flight disrupted after passenger allegedly 'bit another person'
Briefly

On Saint Patrick's Day, a disturbance occurred on Delta Air Lines flight 501, where a passenger allegedly bit another individual. The flight originated from Atlanta and, upon landing at LAX, Delta staff requested medical assistance, prompting a response from the LA Fire Department. The affected passenger was treated, while the assailant was restrained and taken to the hospital. This incident reflects escalating unruly passenger behavior on flights, with over 1,800 reported disturbances in 2024, which the FAA is now investigating.
We were responding to reports from Delta staff about an adult male patient who had been restrained on the aircraft.
Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior and we will work with law enforcement to that end.
