The California Highway Patrol identified the victim as 18-year-old Destiny Garcia-Gonzalez, who was killed in a crash after reportedly speeding on I-580.
Onlookers reported that Garcia-Gonzalez was driving in the lane closest to the center divider before her truck veered off across all lanes of traffic.
The truck crashed through a fence and went down a 60-foot embankment, rolling over several times before finally coming to a stop.
Investigators are examining whether Garcia-Gonzalez may have fallen asleep or suffered a medical emergency that caused the truck to leave the roadway.
