Ealing Council is partnering with environmental charity Letting Grow to develop a new three-acre forest at Pear Tree Park, Perivale, by inviting volunteers to plant 5,000 native trees throughout March. This initiative includes themed planting days for schools and businesses, aiming to improve the local ecosystem and combat climate change. Ross Walker, CEO of Letting Grow, emphasizes the mental health benefits and community bonding that come from working with nature. The project also aims to significantly reduce carbon dioxide and enhance biodiversity in the area.
This is a fantastic chance for everyone to get outdoors and reconnect with nature and make an impact by creating a new urban forest from scratch.
It will help the fight against climate change, it will cool the local environment and it will boost biodiversity in the area.
