A teenager who fatally stabbed 16-year-old Kamari Johnson during a dispute over a stolen moped in West London has been sentenced to a minimum of 20 years. The incident occurred on May 24, 2024, after the two had haggled over the sale of a moped via Snapchat. When Kamari reneged on the deal, taking the defendant's money and fleeing, the defendant confronted him at his home and fatally stabbed him in what was claimed to be a self-defense scenario, though the court found otherwise.
The defendant was left feeling "pretty foolish, pretty embarrassed and, no doubt, pretty angry" after being swindled, leading him to confront Kamari.
Kamari reneged on their agreement, took the defendant's cash and drove away, resulting in a confrontation that led to the tragic stabbing.
