Police arrest man in hospital after arson attack' destroys Catford home

A man has been detained on suspicion of arson after a fire erupted in a semi-detached house in Catford, southeast London. Approximately 40 firefighters responded to the blaze at around 5:45 am, managing to control it within an hour. Half of the ground-floor flat was severely damaged, and although one man exited the property before firefighters arrived, he was hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. The Metropolitan Police are investigating the incident, which has yet to confirm any serious injuries aside from the hospitalized individual.
