A police chase in South Norwood on April 18 resulted in a tragic crash when a vehicle escaped from officers and collided with two others. The pursuit began around 8:38pm when officers attempted to stop a vehicle suspected of having cloned number plates. The crash led to the death of a 63-year-old driver at the scene, while others were taken to the hospital, with one in critical condition. The police have arrested individuals from the pursued vehicle and referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
