Day nursery proposed at redevelopment on site of 177-year-old lost Romford pub
Briefly

A planning application has been submitted to Havering Council to transform a former pub site at 164 London Road into a day care nursery. The location, which was once the Slaters Arms and shut down in April 2018, has remained unused since its redevelopment into residential flats and retail units in 2019. The proposal includes building a boundary wall for a children's garden and enhancing cycle parking, with expectations of creating 16 new jobs if approved by May 5.
The site at 164 London Road, once home to the Slaters Arms pub, is under consideration for redevelopment into a day care nursery to replace a vacant shop unit.
Havering Council is reviewing a planning application to transform the commercial space of the former pub into a day care nursery while enhancing local community infrastructure.
