The Bug Club's recent single, "Have U Ever Been 2 Wales," captures the essence of the Welsh duo's vibrant pop-punk style, blending exuberance with a carefree approach to songwriting. Despite not being part of their new album, "Very Human Features," the song resonated with audiences more than anticipated. Tilly Harris and Sam Willmett, who have collaborated for 17 years, create music in a spontaneous manner, influenced by their British roots and a love for tea. Their prolific output reflects their passion and collaboration in crafting catchy, relatable music.
"We just thought, 'It's a nice little song. Let's get this out,' but people took to it more than we expected," says Tilly Harris of the Bug Club.
"It's very typically British of us. We make sure it's done in one hit. And then move on to the next thing," reflects Sam Willmett.
"A cup of tea seems like the right amount of time to not overthink it," offers an insight into their songwriting process.
"Comes up with all the lyrics and stuff. And then we kind of collaborate on the music. Build it from there," explains Harris.
