Mimi Shodeinde, a British-Nigerian artist, spent over two years finding the ideal location for her studio, Miminat Designs. Located in St. John's Wood, London, the space embodies her artistic vision, moving beyond traditional galleries to create an accessible showcase for her work. The bi-level studio features a first-floor gallery and a second-floor materials library, enriched by an arch motif and a diverse color palette inspired by her travels. Shodeinde aims for a tactile, immersive experience with textured finishes, reflecting her design philosophy that blends structure and fluidity.
I didn't want it to be like a typical gallery or too heavily curated, it has a lightness to it as a showcase for a selection of my signature pieces.
Shodeinde envisioned a jewel box-like setting... an immersive haven that reflects the studio's appreciation for the sensory experience of touch.
