Warning! TfL tube, Overground and Elizabeth line fares are increasing from this weekend
Briefly

Starting March 2, 2023, fares across London’s transport system, including the Tube and National Rail services, will rise by an average of 4.6%. This increase follows a year-long freeze, driven by the need for TfL to secure funding for future projects. Daily caps will also increase slightly, while bus fares remain unchanged. Mayor Sadiq Khan emphasized the necessity of these adjustments for maintaining funding for London's transport infrastructure, amid cost pressures and fiscal requirements from the government.
Fares across London's trains will rise by nearly 5% starting March 2, aligning with national rail fare increases, affecting pay-as-you-go and Travelcards.
Sadiq Khan stated that to secure future funding for transport projects, TfL fares must rise in accordance with the national rail fare increases.
