The vacant site of the Akari restaurant on Essex Road is being converted into a new branch of Ippudo, adding to its existing London locations. Ippudo is renowned for its Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, featuring a rich pork broth and an array of toppings. The menu will not only focus on signature ramen bowls but also include pork, chicken, fish, vegetarian options, and various Japanese dishes like donburi and gyoza. The new location will open on July 2, 2025, enhancing Islington's dining scene with authentic Japanese cuisine.
Hakata-style tonkotsu is the chain's signature ramen which includes ingredients such as pork broth, pork belly chashu, and a range of toppings.
As well as these signature bowls, there's pork & fish, chicken and veggie ramen available, plus donburi, curry rice, takoyaki, gyoza, karaage and hirata buns.
