Templar, a new restaurant and wine bar, is set to open in Stratford on March 1. It promises a relaxed atmosphere with seasonal creative dishes. Located in the East Bank cultural quarter, it will follow the success of the Italian-inspired Darkhorse. The restaurant features a mid-century design, and the menu includes unique small and larger plates crafted by head chef Richard Sinclair. Co-founders Lee Glen and Ian Goodman express pride in contributing to the vibrant area, emphasizing the historical significance of Templar in the 1080s.
"After the success of Darkhorse, we're thrilled to open Templar in nearby Stratford Cross. The area is buzzing and we're really proud of the menu."
"The name Templar derives from the history of this brilliant location in which Knights Templar owned the land back in the 1080s, building wooden watermills on the adjacent River Lea to grind the locals' cereal crops."
