A woman has died after a fire in a basement. Firefighters were called to a small fire in the basement of a mid-terraced house in Shepherdess Walk, Hoxton.
The fire was under control by 6.53 am. A woman was pronounced dead at the scene, the London Fire Brigade says. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
