Two men, Larry Fraser and James Love, have been charged with burglary after the theft of Banksy's famous painting, Girl with Balloon, which has since been recovered.
The painting, Girl with Balloon, has a storied history, as it first appeared in 2002 and has since been reproduced in various limited and hand-sprayed versions.
Notably, a framed copy of Girl with Balloon sold for over 1 million in 2018 and famously self-destructed shortly after being auctioned, now known as Love is in the Bin.
The theft underscores the high value of Banksy's art, as seen in the sale of Love is in the Bin for a staggering 18.5 million at Sotheby's.
