A Merseyside Police spokesperson stated: "At about midday on Sunday, we were called to a property on Percy Road to reports of concern for the child. The infant was taken to hospital to be assessed where injuries were found to his body. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the boy was sadly pronounced deceased this afternoon."
Police charged Klevi Pirjani and Nivalda Santos Pirjani with serious offenses including causing grievous bodily harm and wounding with intent after the boy was found unresponsive.
