A serving police officer has been charged with the strangulation and assault of a woman. PC Mahad Abdalla, who was attached to a Met unit covering Barnet, Brent and Harrow, was arrested after the alleged off-duty incident on Saturday (March 23).
PC Abdalla will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court today. A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said that he has been suspended from duties while an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
